How I Started Making Knives

I started making wooden knives when I was 8 years old, after seeing a wooden sword in a gift shop that I REALLY wanted. Mom said I couldn’t get it, but that Dad could probably help me make one at home with old lumber - for free. Before that, I was usually whittling some sort of spear out of sticks. Turns out, I created my own sword without my dads help, but I got his permission to use his tools.

From there I started making more designs and cutting them out of plywood with the jigsaw. Then I started filing rough shapes and bevels to take them to the next level. I even sold some to my neighbors. I had a little inspiration when I found my moms’ old broken wheelbarrow. I took it apart and used the metal supports to make my very first metal knives! I was hooked.

A few YouTube videos later, my skills started to improve. I experienced a lot of trial and error that got me to where I am right now. Over the next few months, I started realizing that I needed to slow down and take my time. That’s when my craftsmanship started elevating and my knives began to get better.

It’s really cool to see my progress over the years. I get better and better with every project. I’m still learning, and I hope to keep going for a long time. Thank you for supporting my business.
